Speakers

Professor Rajkumar Roy

Executive Dean, School of Science & Technology, CITY University of London

Professor Roy holds a PhD in Computing from the University of Plymouth (UK) and BEng and MEng degrees in Production Engineering from Jadavpur University in India. He started his career as an engineer at Tata Motors; pioneered research in Through-life Engineering Services (TES) with Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, Bombardier Transportation, the Ministry of Defence and Babcock International; and established an internationally known TES Centre. He is a Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Elsevier Applied Soft Computing journal and a Fellow of the CIRP (International Academy for Production Engineers), the Institute of Engineering Designers (IED), and the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Professor Roy has advocated creative thinking in higher education and has started several new initiatives over the last twenty years.

Frank Furnari

Frank is CEO & Founder of ARuVR®, the world’s first turnkey Extended Reality (Augmented and Virtual Reality) learning solution. He raised $10m from Softbank Ventures at the age of 22 for his first start-up and over the years he has designed and ran 900+ innovation leaning programmes for corporate and institution clients in Europe, USA and ASIA. Frank is also patent inventor of many patents and has won numerous awards including the prestigious UK Queen’s Enterprise Award. Frank is a Humanitarian International staff member at CESVI NPO, a member of the Neuromarketing Science & Business Association and a Corporate Member of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

Tom McDowall

Chairman, The Learning Network

Tom has been making workplace learning work for people and businesses for the last decade. From sales and customer services to utilities, IT and some stuff that’s still secret, he’s stepped across industries with a single focus, helping organisations deliver by building performant workforces. He is currently the chair of The Learning Network, a community interest company created to support learning and development professionals, share best practices and elevate the industry. Tom also hosts the iDeas Podcast and the Instructional Design Tips YouTube channel.

Dr Margarita Georgieva

Dr Margarita Georgieva is Service Innovation and Technology Manager at BAE Systems, and is looking after the new and developing technologies for education across the BAES academies. She is currently working on an apprentice digital transformation project, which is aiming to lay the foundations for empowering individuals to design, develop and continually transform the education spaces and environments in which they would like to learn and work in the future.

Leighann Wilkinson

Leigh Wilkinson has worked in Learning and Development for over 15 years within the hospitality sector. Leading learning functions to provide both behavioural and skills training for brands within the UK & International markets. In recent roles, she has strived for a more modern blend of traditional offline learning, whilst harnessing the power of technology to create a system of more immersive training shaped by data to enable a better customer experience and a more engaged workforce.

Siren Berge

Chief Technology Officer, MINTRA

Siren was appointed CTO in 2019, after having served several years as COO in Mintra. Siren has extensive experience in leading international operations, strategic decision-making, business development for specialist ERP software organisations, pioneering strategic business initiatives, leading specialist teams and providing technical thought leadership to drive forward sales growth. Over the past 30 years, Siren has held a number of senior management positions, CEO of Emisoft AS, Product and Project Director in Emisoft AS, Director of manufacturing and industry solutions in Hands ASA, and Partner and CEO of Emma EDB.

Where and when

The ARuVR® L&D Summit 2023 takes place at the City, University of London, Northampton Square, EC1V 0HB on Tuesday 13th June 2023 from 17:30 to 21:00.

FAQ's

The ARuVR® L&D Summit 2023 takes place at the City, University of London, Northampton Square, EC1V 0HB

You can find information about locating the venue here. The main reception desk is in Northampton Square.

If you are using the Tube, you can use the Northern Line (Bank branch), as well as the combination of the Circle/District/Metropolitan/Hammersmith & City lines, the Central Line and the Elizabeth line.

The nearest tube stations are Angel, Farringdon and Moorgate.

There is no parking available on campus. The nearest NCP car park is Farringdon approximately a 10 minute walk away.

There is wheelchair access all over the campus and directly from Main Reception to the foyer of the Lecture Theatre (B200).

This event is aimed at professionals within the Learning & Development industry.

ARuVR will review and approve all registrations and you will then receive an email notification.

All attendees should wear appropriate smart/business attire. 

Information provided by registrants on booking will be utilised by ARuVR to keep interested parties updated on further product developments and future information on forthcoming events.

Filming and photography will be taking place, by agreeing to attend you consent to images being used for marketing and promotional purposes.
