Join us for our mastery day in Manchester.
Inclusion and Culture.
9.30am – Arrival and welcome
9.45am – Trick or Trust: Addressing Your Organisation’s Hidden Culture
Every organisation has a culture it talks about, and a culture that actually happens day to day, and the two don’t always match. This session digs into the small, everyday moments (not the big policy statements) that quietly shape whether people trust their workplace or not. We’ll start with the ingredients of a healthy culture then look at how L&D can actually spot these “hidden culture” issues in their own organisation and what to do about it – from feedback culture to leadership development.
Speaker: Gemma Glover (Assoc CIPID), Head of Learning & Development, Cezanne HR
11.15am – Networking Break
11.45am – Inclusive Learning Design
As facilitators, trainers and learning designers we often think very deeply about engagement. We vary activities, add visuals, encourage discussion.
But some of our best practise may still be excluding people. Many workshops are still designed as though everyone processes information the same way.
The good news: neuroinclusive design doesn’t mean starting over. It’s usually a few thoughtful choices that make the experience better for everyone.
Sascha Evans, founder of We the Creators and creator of the Neurocolours Design System, is joining us to lead a 90-minute session on neuroinclusive design as part of this Gathering.
Sascha will share a simple framework for reviewing your own workshops through a neuroinclusive lens.
This is going to be a creative and interactive session – but you can take part however you like. That means you can work in a group, you can work solo, you can contribute or you can just watch – whatever works for you.
We ask that you gring one of your own workshops or pieces of training to work on during the session – you won’t need to share it unless you’d like to.
We’re going to cover:
- Why neuroinclusion is a design principle, (not just a reasonable adjustment)
- A simple framework for reviewing any workshop
- Practical ways to improve inclusion without extra work
- Small changes for your next workshop that make a big difference
You’ll leave with improvements you can apply straight away. And, most importantly, make sure you bring your colouring pencils

1.15pm – Lunch
2.15pm – The L&D ‘Ch-oppurtunity’ in influencing culture in the future of work
(NB: ‘Ch-oppurtunity’ stands for Challenging Opportunity)
Future-focused workplaces are currently looking at how AI can increase organisational capability…yet culture determines how that capability is used. The role and positioning of L&D is evolving, revolving and shifting considerably to no longer simply provide training solutions and courses. The opportunity lies ahead for everyone at all levels of L&D to rethink the value proposition of their role, strategically position their capabilities within the organisation and reposition their brand.
This session will explore the ‘Ch-oppurtunities’ that lie ahead including how to:
- fully integrate L&D into the organisational system to diagnose true performance and people problems,
- strengthen the human capabilities AI cannot replace, and
- help organisations adopt technology responsibly and inclusively.
We’ll explore Usha’s C.L.A.R.I.T.Y. (TM) model so attendees will walk away with tangible and practical examples to influence their environments and become Culture-vators L&D Superhero experts delivering the value needed, not just wanted.
Speaker: Usha Puri-Dewage is an Executive Leadership Coach, Facilitator & Culture & Power Skills expert designer and speaker. With her background in Anthropology, working internationally and high performance behaviours, she has worked across the entire employee lifecycle and commercial projects, positioning L&D as an integral strategic business partnership directly contributing to a more purposeful organisational culture.
