In the spotlight: eLN Connect 2019

eLN Connect in the spotlight

The eLearning Network’s annual conference, eLN Connect 2019, tackles one of L&D’s biggest challenges.

The eLearning Network (eLN) connects the L&D community this November as it takes on one of the biggest challenges the profession is facing: how to build and foster a learning culture in which people can thrive. eLN Connect 2019 takes place on Wednesday, 20th November and is set to drive discussion and debate among delegates.

Now in its fifth year, the conference programme explores why a learning-led culture is so important for twenty-first century organisations. With people’s skills continuously evolving and workplaces rapidly changing, today’s organisations require a different approach to fulfilling learning needs, so what is the best way to achieve this?

In the spotlight

Nicole Bradfield, Partner at Within People, brings a wealth of experience to her opening keynote from working with senior leaders. Nicole sets the tone of the day by examining the essential qualities needed to shift culture and identifies what we must ‘unlearn’ to do this. Her session explores how each of us can step up into a leadership role and take responsibility for our own learning journeys.

Andrew Jacobs, L&D Transformation Lead and Deirdre Bond, Senior Learning Partner, build on Nicole’s address and showcase the change they’re bringing to HMRC – developing their learning strategy by developing their learning culture first. In parallel, Neusha Milanian, Learning and Leadership Consultant at Aviva, presents an interactive session that provides practical tips on gaining commitment from learners and creating engagement through experience design.

Following dedicated time for networking, the conference programme continues with thought leadership from industry experts and leading technology providers who offer real-life case studies to support the conference theme. Three panel debates also offer insights into overcoming the barriers to developing a thriving learning culture. Panellists will discuss what needs to be addressed and overcome in the spheres of digital transformation as a driver of change, leadership, and capabilities and skills within the L&D profession.

Joan Keevill, Chair of the eLN, said:

“This year’s eLN Connect is creating an important conversation around key areas that we need to address: how do we as L&D professionals support learning which is continuous and integrated within the flow of work? Building the right environment to do this is crucial, as is tackling the obstacles ahead of us to ensure we support our people, so they take ownership of their learning, allowing them to identify how their skills and careers develop.”

Joan was recently interviewed by Training Journal ahead of eLN Connect, given the conference features as a must-attend event in the industry’s calendar.

Joan added:

“To be honest, if you haven’t already secured your ticket for eLN Connect, please do so today! Places are filling up fast and it’s a fantastic lineup, so you’ll kick yourself if you miss out!”

eLN Connect takes place on Wednesday, 20th November at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge. Online registration is open until midnight, Tuesday, 12th November; booking in advance secures a place at the event and eLN membership provides a discount.
