How do I cancel my order and get a refund?
We may offer a refund within the first 30 days of your membership or first 30 days of your automatic membership renewal (cooling off period) as long as you have not used any of the membership features, however membership purchases are not refundable after this time. Please contact contactus@thelearning-network.org. The Learning Network is responsible at all times for any queries relating to the payment and fulfilment of your order. Our contact details are displayed on this website, your purchase receipt and on the transaction confirmation email.
What is the registered trading name of The Learning Network?
The trading name of The Learning Network is The eLearning Network Community Interest Company. Membership and event payments will show on your credit and debit card statements as a payment to The eLearning Network CIC.

Regular Recurring Payments Agreement
Your payments will occur at regular fixed intervals. The Learning Network will ask you to allow the same amount to be debited from your card automatically at a regular fixed interval. This allows payments to take place at a regular fixed interval. Payments will run over a fixed period of 1 calendar year. A subscription can be cancelled by you at any time via your Account->Memberships page.
What happens when you make a payment?
We will immediately deduct the amount from your specified account. You will also receive and email confirmation at the point the payment is taken. The email will be generated by The Learning Network.
What happens when you set up regular payments?
Regular payments will be made via your chosen credit or debit card. It should be noted that this is not a Direct Debit therefore payments are not covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee. We will use a Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) that allows us to attempt to transaction payments after a previous failed payment attempt. The advantage of CPA is that you will not incur any charges directly from us or your bank for a failed payment that you could incur with a direct debit. However, you may be charged by your bank for overdraft fees or other fees related to your balance.
What happens if you need to change your regular payments?
For any changes to be made please visit the Membership page of your account. Alternatively please email contactus@thelearning-network.org and we can then make the necessary amendments.
If you want to cancel your regular payments.
You must cancel your subscription before your next automated payment. You can do this via the Membership page on your account or by contacting contactus@thelearning-network.org.
The Learning Network or LN (“We”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy (together with our terms of use) sets out the basis on which we will process any personal information we collect from you or that you provide to us. Your personal data – what is it?
Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data. We are the eLearning Network Community Interest Company (Company number: 06969913) T/A The Learning Network, the go-to organisation for the learning community. We are run by a Board of Directors which is elected by our Members. You can view the official statement of our objectives and activities (our ‘Memorandum of Association) here. Our registered address is 303 Goring Rd, Worthing BN12 4NX. Under GDPR, we act as a ‘Data Controller’ for the data you share with us. To serve our Members, Subscribers and Industry Partners we provide the following services (the “Services”): – Subscribers are entitled to attend the webinars we run, the local meet-ups run by Members and to receive updates via email about our annual conference, the workshops that we run for members, thought leadership from the LN and relevant promotions and news from our industry partners – In addition to the above, Members are entitled to attend the member workshops we run each year, run their own local meet-ups with our support, vote in LN Board elections, access our mentoring scheme and use our logo on personal sites – In addition to the above, Industry Partners can use our logo and partner strapline, appear on our website as a named partner, submit guest blog posts and events on our site, nominate staff members to attend our workshops (one person per event), offer to present a webinar and receive priority as a sponsor for LN events
The personal information we collect about you
We collect personally identifying information about you consisting of your name, email address, personal URLs, postal address, organisation and job title when you sign up as a Member, a Subscriber or an Industry Partner to access our Services.
How we use, transfer and manage your personal information
We store and process this information on the lawful basis of our legitimate interest in planning, providing and improving the services to which you are entitled as a Member, Subscriber, or Industry Partner. The primary way that we communicate with you in order to provide these services is via email. To send you emails we transfer your data to MailChimp, which acts as a data processor under GDPR. You can review the MailChimp privacy policy here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/ You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time and still receive emails from our website which enable you to login, reset your password and renew your membership. If you choose not to renew your status as a Member after 12 months, you will be downgraded to the level of a Subscriber. If you do not login to our website for 2 years as an Subscriber, your personal information will be erased from our website and from MailChimp and we won’t contact you again. Our use of your data to provide our mentoring service is described in the section entitled ‘Mentoring’ below. If you are not a current Member, Subscriber or Industry Partner, on the lawful basis of your consent, we may also use your information to send you marketing messages in the way described in the section ‘Marketing’ below.
Where we store your personal data
The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) which is compliant with the GDPR. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. We will take reasonable technical and operational security measures to protect the information that we hold about you. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your transmitted data; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access your account, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone. We do not share your information with any other third parties or websites which are not named in this policy.
Mentoring
In order to provide our mentoring scheme, it is necessary to collect additional personal information from Members receiving mentorship about their goals and career aspirations, and personal information from mentors who may not be Members, Subscribers or Industry Partners. On the basis of consent to participate in the Mentoring scheme and share the information we need, this data will be held securely by the LN for a period of two years from its capture.
Marketing
If you are not currently a Member, Subscriber or Industry Partner, on the lawful basis of your informed consent we would like to send you information via email about events and services of ours and of our partners which may be of interest to you. You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, please click here to unsubscribe.
Access to your information, correction and erasure
We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you and to ask us to correct it or delete it completely.
