The new series of online sessions organised by the eLearning Network (eLN) brings their members together to exchange experiences and share advice on a variety of topics. The initiative has been launched to provide those in the L&D community with increased support amid the current Covid-19 lockdown.
The eLN is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company providing guidance on best practice and future trends in technology-based learning and development at work, with hundreds of members in the UK and beyond.
Further to hosting a recent Twitter Chat exploring wellbeing and how the L&D community is coping during this time, eLN’s Board identified other ways of supporting their members during the lockdown. Joan Keevill, Chair of the eLN, held the first session via Zoom on Wednesday, 15th April – an informal meeting to discuss the impact of the lockdown on freelance instructional designers
Joan said,
“The eLN is keen to offer support. Throughout this unprecedented time, we want to provide an additional platform for our members to collaborate, share their knowledge and learn from each other. Our programme of workshops – members find invaluable – is on pause, so the sessions offer another way of bringing our membership together.”
With spaces capped to ensure everyone can engage throughout the sessions participants benefit from honed discussion and real opportunity to contribute, listen, and feedback to their peers.
Joan added,
“We’ve been engaging with our members and the wider L&D community and designed the sessions with their needs in mind. Topics range from exploring solution-focused principles to how to feel more comfortable in front of your webcam. We also have virtual coffee morning scheduled, so members can ‘dropin’ when they’re available, and structured ‘speed networking’ sessions, ideally timed for our new members.”
The series is open to full members with other sessions available to associates at a future date; costs £29 per annum and offers a wide range of benefits. The sessions are provided to members in addition to eLN’s programme of webinars and renowned member-to-member mentoring scheme.
