The eLearning Network reveals conference line-up

eLN announce annual conference line-up

The eLearning Network (eLN) reveals this year’s conference line-up and introduces the event’s invited speakers, Guest Chairs and event sponsors.

2019’s conference explores how the L&D community can better support organisations in building and fostering learning cultures that thrive. The expert line-up has been cherry-picked to meet the conference theme head-on, as well as generate debate and discussion around it.

The eLN previously announced their keynote speakers (Nicole Bradfield – Partner at Within People, and Robin Hoyle – Head of Learning Innovation at Huthwaite International) who open and close the conference.

Invited speakers

Neusha Milanian – Learning and Leadership Consultant at Aviva, presents an interactive session that provides practical tips on gaining commitment from learners and creating engagement through experience design.

A former actor, Neusha joined Aviva last year and ensures all global leadership programmes are crafted with and for the learner. She specialises in embedding and sustaining behavioural change through inspiring and empowering interventions.

Deirdre Bond – Senior Learning Partner and Andrew Jacobs – L&D Transformation Lead at HM Revenue & Customs, explore why learning culture should be considered before strategy. They will walk-through how learning tactics fit into learning strategy, what this approach looks like in practice and what it means for learning practitioners.

Deirdre is creating a new Learning Approach/culture at HMRC, defining the leadership and accelerated development offer and embedding knowledge management into the way the organisation works. Andrew is a recognised leader in L&D, known for his innovative thinking about learning, workplace training and technology, and significant experience gained from a range of roles across industries in both the public and private sectors.

Conference Guest Chairs

Three further senior L&D professionals join the line-up as guest Chairs to facilitate the afternoon’s “Big Debate” panel sessions, exploring Digital Transformation, Leadership, and L&D Capabilities and Skills: David James – Chief Learning Officer at Looop and Host of The Learning & Development Podcast; Helen Palmer – Head of Learning Advisors at Credit Suisse; and Barbara Thompson – Learning Experience Architect at GP Strategies Ltd.

Joan Keevill, Chair of eLN, said:

“We have a fantastic conference line-up this year. I’m excited by the range of knowledge and experience we’ll have under one roof! Connect creates real conversation every year and 2019 is no exception – from our invited speakers and sponsored sessions to the panel debates and dedicated networking time. I’m looking forward to us capturing the challenges the L&D profession is facing when building a successful learning culture and collaborating as a community to explore how we overcome them.”

Event sponsors and exhibitors

Several organisations have secured sponsorship of the event, including Brightwave, Comtec Translations, Elucidat, Filtered, Instinct, Junction-18, LearnUpon, MakeReal, Training Journal, Virtual College and Wranx. The majority are sharing their experiences and knowledge as part of the event’s programme, presenting in parallel and contributing to panel debates, as well as showcasing their services and solutions in the exhibition area adjacent to the conference.

Steph Bright, eLN Board Director, said:

“Our sponsors will provide real-life insight – industry thought-leaders sharing their experiences and leading suppliers demonstrating the latest and greatest in learning and technology. I echo Joan’s comment; it’s fantastic we can bring such a breadth of expertise together on the same day for our members and the wider community. Connect really is a unique learning conference that is going from strength to strength. If you’ve not yet booked your ticket for the conference, I advise you to do so ASAP!”

eLN Connect takes place on Wednesday, 20th November at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge. Online registration is open and booking in advance secures a place at the event. A limited number of sponsorship and exhibition packages remain – contact Steph Bright in the first instance.
